Frank Cooper and his team from Atlanta Property Inspections, Inc were excellent! They arrived on time  and thoroughly inspected all areas of the property I was considering renting. They found things that needed to be repaired by the landlord before we signed the lease. Frank reviewed his findings with us. He explained all of his concerns, and he patiently answered all of our questions. Then the next day I received a very detailed report that included several pictures and detailed explanations. If you want a kind, knowledgeable, and thorough inspector, don’t hesitate to call Frank Cooper with Atlanta Property. I would highly recommend him! Truly a 5 star company!

Atlanta property inspections gave me a very competitor quote and stuck to it for final pricing. They were able to get someone out to do the inspection so quickly. Frank and James were very thorough and helpful during the process they encouraged me to look at what they found, the good and bad, so I knew exactly what I am buying.  I couldn't have asked for a better inspection experience!

Atlanta Property Inspections, Inc. was referred to us by our realtor for our home inspection. Our inspector was Cary Cooper. He really took the time to answer all of our questions about his findings. We didn't feel rushed or that any question was too silly. He gave us peace of mind with a few of our concerns and was honest, even if we weren't to thrilled with the news. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely use (and refer)  Atlanta Property Inspections, Inc. in the future for any inspection needs.

The inspector was really thorough and was patient in explaining to me what he was observing. He showed me where the shutoff valve was for the water and gave recommendations on various things. The report that was provided made sense and pictures were taken of some things that were found. The inspector was also very personable which put me at ease about asking questions. Thank you, Alex and Atlanta Property Inspections!

Dustin was very knowledgeable and friendly and made my client feel confident in his explanations.  He was quick to point out the positives of the home he was inspecting.  His report was delivered within 18 hours of the inspection and had plenty of photos and very easy explanations in laymen's terms. I highly recommend Atlanta Property Inspections.

The inspector Frank came to our house to inspect the deck and provide a list of safety problems. While he was there we asked him to take a look at some termite damage in the attic.  When he went to the attic he spotted problems with a squirrel infestation requiring immediate action to correct for chewed wiring and unsanitary conditions.  We were unaware of this problem.  Frank provided a comprehensive inspection report in PDF format including multiple photos showing deck post deterioration, sagging joists and yes even a picture of the live squirrel in the attic. Frank is totally professional, knows his area of expertise very well and offers sound recommendations on how to correct problems without spending money for unnecessary improvements.  For example he told us the ledger board was in good shape and did not have to be replaced, only secured to the house wall with additional bolts. The small amount we paid for the inspection was well spent because the inspection will end up saving us money in the long run.

How to Prevent Mold In Your Home

Mold can be a serious problem that can affect one’s health as well as the lifespan of a house. However, information about mold is not commonly known. To inform everyone about them, we have gathered some information. So, throughout this article, we will go through why you should prevent mold, how to tell if your house has a mold problem, the steps to preventing mold growth throughout your home, and how Atlanta Property Inspection can help. Let’s start.

Why Should You Prevent Mold

Mold decomposes organic matter in nature. The growth of mold spores in the house means your house is about to be decomposed. The worst part about the growth of this organism in a house is that it is easily spread and can’t be prevented easily. They can grow in places you can’t see, which causes many problems for homeowners in the future. Not only does mold growth end up costly for homeowners, but it does affect everyone’s health as well. Let’s see how you can detect mold in your house.

How to Tell If Your House Has a Mold Problem

Many signs show a mold problem to a homeowner. In this section, we will list the main four.

  • If there is water inside your wall or under the carpets, these are perfect conditions for a mold to grow. See if there is a musty smell and feel the moisture.
  • If you have wallpaper on your walls and you see that the paint is starting to peel, this shows moisture in between. Check to see if you hear a strange musty odor.
  • If you have had common water issues like leaky pipes, condensation from the AC system, or water intrusions, mold growth around these areas is common. Check and see if you can get your eyes on something odd.
  • If you start to see discoloration or spores on your furniture, this can be a sign of mold growth.

Steps to Preventing Mold Growth All Throughout Your Home

Let’s go over the steps to prevent mold problems in your home.

  • Locate where the mold is. Is it in the basement? Is it commonly seen in carpets or ceilings?
  • Mold requires damp, dark, and moist areas to grow. If you can prevent them, you can prevent mold growth. Dry any moist or wet area you see around the environment quickly.
  • Proper ventilation is the key to preventing moisture. Use dehumidifiers or AC to keep the moisture out of the area.
  • Monitor the humidity of your house every single day and check to see if there is a different issue.
  • Work with an inspection company to find the root of the problem.
